Terms and conditions: a plain summary
Last updated
Customers in the EU and EEA contract with Bitpanda GmbH for crypto-asset services; orders are executed with Bitpanda as counterparty at the quoted price, fees are those in the published fee schedule, and the binding terms are the legal documents Bitpanda provides at sign-up.
A summary, not the contract
This page explains the main terms in plain language. It does not replace the contractual documents you accept when you open an account; where the two differ, those documents apply.
Who you contract with
Bitpanda is a group of companies. Which one you contract with depends on the product:
- Crypto-assets (broker, Fusion, staking and custody): Bitpanda GmbH, FN 569240 v.
- Stocks, ETFs and other financial instruments: Bitpanda Financial Services GmbH, FN 551181 k.
- E-money and payment services: Bitpanda Payments GmbH, FN 501412 x.
- Precious metals: Bitpanda Metals GmbH, FN 511923 d.
All four are at Stella-Klein-Löw Weg 17, 1020 Vienna, Austria. Their supervisors, identifiers and register links are listed under the regulated companies and their licences.
Accounts and eligibility
You need a verified identity before you can trade; the privacy notice explains what is collected for that check. This website is for residents of the EU and EEA. Residents of the UK and the UAE are served by other Bitpanda companies. Accounts and wallets are free of charge.
Minimum age and restricted countries: to be confirmed.
Orders, prices and fees
When you buy or sell, Bitpanda is your counterparty: it quotes a price and fills the order itself, as principal. That also holds on Fusion, which Bitpanda describes as an advanced trading platform, not an exchange. Bitpanda states that it is your sole contractual counterparty there and does not operate a multilateral trading system.
The minimum amount to buy or sell an asset is EUR 1.00. The fees you pay are those in the published fee schedule. Third-party fees, currency conversion costs and taxes can apply on top.
Risk, liability and governing law
Crypto-assets are highly volatile. You could sustain a loss of some or all of your investment, so it is important to invest only what you can afford to lose.
Each product's risks are set out in the risk disclosure.
Nothing on this website is investment advice. You decide what to buy and when, and you bear the result.
Liability limits, governing law and the place of jurisdiction are set out in the contractual documents: to be confirmed. If something goes wrong, the complaints procedure tells you how to raise it and where to escalate.
Know the cost before you order
The fee schedule shows what each product costs before you place an order.
